Broto: Art-Climate-Science is a collaboration conference addressing the climate crisis.
The theme of the December 2020 conference is "Affinity" -- as in exploring better affinity of society and nature.
In life and in science, affinity is about closeness, alignment, rapport, mutual interest, attraction, symbiosis. How does art-climate-science collaboration bring clarity and new ideas to building mutually affirming society-nature symbiosis?
Can we reframe the Anthopocene to be about human enhancements to nature?
Our conference mantra: "Interaction, not extraction."
In ways akin to how Broto discusses collaboration, scale, and time, "Affinity" will be about ideas of reciprocity, regeneration, replenishment, recharging and rehabilitating the environment stressed by climate change.
Join us. 6 sessions over two Saturdays.
Each Saturday features a "triple feature" of sessions, each with live Q&A with the presenters. Details are firming up.
Dec. 5: "Affinity: Between Art and Science", "Earth Economics" and Symbiosis - Art's Knowledge of Nature"
Dec. 12: "Interaction, not Extraction","Business-Nature-Policy" and "Denatured/Renatured"
Registration and participation are free.
